We print labels and envelopes — does the media change how toner behaves?

It does, because toner is fused to the surface by heat and pressure. Paper, label stock and envelope material all take that heat differently, so the copier asks you to name the media type when you load the bypass tray. Picking "labels" or "envelope" slows the sheet and adjusts the fusing to suit — the single most effective habit for clean results on anything that is not plain paper.

Why has toner flaked off our heavy card stock before?

Flaking almost always means the sheet ran through on a plain-paper setting: the heavier stock needed more heat than the machine applied, so the image never fully bonded and rubs away afterwards. The fix lives in the driver and panel settings, not in the cartridge. Run one test sheet on the correct thick-stock setting and check the rub resistance before committing the whole batch.

Will a morning of full-colour label printing drain the colours faster?

Yes — a label sheet covered edge to edge in colour lays down far more toner than a page of memos, and the 15,000-page colour ratings assume ordinary office documents. Dense media work is honest work for this set, but an office that prints promotional labels weekly should expect the cyan, magenta and yellow to cycle noticeably quicker than the headline figures imply.

Is there a special-media version of this set I should be buying instead?
