Black is 006R01175, rated at approximately 26,000 pages. Cyan is 006R01176, magenta is 006R01177 and yellow is 006R01178, each rated at approximately 16,000 pages, all at standard test coverage. The black rating is the one a records or correspondence office will actually test; the color figures are there for the day a chart, stamp or letterhead needs them.
If a color cartridge sits sealed for a year or more, will it still be good?
Yes. The contents are a dry powder with no solvent to evaporate and nothing to dry out, so a cartridge kept sealed, flat and away from heat keeps its full rated life in storage. When a color finally runs low — perhaps long after the black has been changed more than once — the spare from this set installs and performs as rated.
Can a cartridge be changed in the middle of a long print run?
Yes. When the machine flags a color as empty, swap that single cartridge and the run resumes; the other positions are not disturbed and partly used cartridges elsewhere in the machine carry on.
