Frequently Asked Questions

Why would anyone buy four drum units in one box?

Because on this platform a drum change is a when, not an if — and the sites running these machines rarely run just one. This pack holds four separate 013R00662 black drum units for $414.33, which works out to $103.58 a unit against $117.45 bought singly: $55.47 saved across the four. Each unit carries its own imaging life of up to 125,000 pages, so the four together cover half a million pages of drum life spread across a fleet or held as shelf spares. No single machine takes all four at once; the pack is a stocking decision, not a fitting instruction.

What exactly is inside the 4 pack?

Four individual 013R00662 drum units, each one the same black imaging unit sold on its own — not a set of four different parts, and not toner. Every unit in the box is interchangeable with every other: any one of them can go into any machine on the platform list. That sameness is the point of the pack. A department can take one unit off the shelf the moment repeating spots or background shading appear on any covered machine, and the remaining units stay sealed until their turn comes.

Do spare drum units deteriorate while they sit on the shelf?

A sealed unit's life is counted in pages imaged, not in months stored, so shelf time does not spend the 125,000-page rating. What storage does ask for is ordinary care: keep the boxes out of direct sunlight and away from heat, and leave each unit sealed until the day it is fitted — the imaging surface is light-sensitive and is protected by its packaging. Rotate the stock so the oldest box is used first, and a spare 013R00662 taken down a year from now images like the one fitted today.

Our site runs a mix of AltaLink and WorkCentre machines — does one part number really cover all of them?

Yes. The same 013R00662 serves AltaLink C8030, AltaLink C8035, AltaLink C8045, AltaLink C8055, AltaLink C8070, WorkCentre 7525, WorkCentre 7530, WorkCentre 7535, WorkCentre 7545, WorkCentre 7556, WorkCentre 7830, WorkCentre 7830i, WorkCentre 7835, WorkCentre 7835i, WorkCentre 7845, WorkCentre 7845i, WorkCentre 7855, WorkCentre 7855i and WorkCentre 7970. One part number on the shelf covers the whole fleet, which is exactly what makes a four-unit stock sensible: there is no per-model drum inventory to juggle.

When one machine starts repeating spots, do the others need their drums changed too?

No. Each machine's drum wears on its own page count and its own history, completely independent of the fleet around it. Repeating marks, streaks down the page or a grey veil over white areas on one machine say that machine's drum surface is done — the identical model down the hall may have most of its life left. With this pack on the shelf, the affected machine gets a fresh 013R00662 the same day, and the rest of the fleet is left alone until each one shows its own symptoms.

How are the four units covered if one of them disappoints?

Every unit in the pack carries the same cover as the single: a one-year warranty and free returns for a year, as set out on our shipping and returns page. The pack ships from whichever of our IL, PA, GA and CA warehouses is closest, and support runs Monday to Friday, 9 AM–5 PM CST if a swap ever raises a question. Toner and the rest of the platform's consumables are listed with it on the Xerox toner page.

About This 013R00662 4 Pack

The fleet buy: four compatible 013R00662 black drum units in one order at $414.33 — $103.58 a unit instead of $117.45, a $55.47 saving over four singles, with each unit rated for up to 125,000 pages of imaging life. It exists for the way these AltaLink and WorkCentre machines are actually kept: drums wear out one machine at a time, on a schedule no toner cartridge follows, and the office that has the next unit already on the shelf never waits on a delivery to clear repeating spots and background shading. Four of the same imaging unit — not toner, not a mixed bundle.
