CLX-2161K

The Samsung CLX-2161K is a color laser multifunction printer from Samsung's mid-2000s CLP/CLX lineup. It shares its engine and toner system with the rest of the CLX-2161 family. It earned its keep in home offices and very small businesses taking their first step into color laser printing.

Samsung paired this model with CLP-K300A toner — CLP-K300A for black pages and CLP-C300A among the colors. We stock compatible CLP-K300A toner as well as genuine Samsung OEM cartridges, and every order ships fast from Clever Supplies.

Frequently Asked Questions

Help me decide: the CLX-2161K says replace imaging unit — can I keep printing?

Two consumables means lower long-term cost: the CLX-2161K never makes you throw away a good imaging unit with an empty toner. Reset the imaging-unit counter after replacement if the CLX-2161K requires it manually. Toner runs out; imaging units wear out — different failures, different fixes.

New owner here — are there region-specific versions of CLP-K300A I should watch for with the CLX-2161K?

Your CLX-2161K takes CLP-K300A cartridges — the model number on the box is the compatibility check. Regional variants of Samsung toner exist, so make sure the CLP-K300A you buy is the version sold for your region. Matching the code exactly is the single most reliable way to avoid a misfit.

Straightforward question: my CLX-2161K prints faded on one side of the page — what is wrong?

If a fresh CLP-K300A cartridge did not fix the fade on your CLX-2161K, the imaging unit is the next suspect — it wears out on its own schedule. Measure the distance between repeating marks; a consistent interval on the CLX-2161K confirms the imaging unit or a roller. Diagnose before you buy — the CLX-2161K rewards a two-minute test over a guess.
