Frequently Asked Questions

What running cost does this cartridge give the Xpress M2625D?

About 1.07 cents a page in toner: the MLT-D116L costs $32.13 and is rated at 3,000 pages. Put in everyday terms, a ream of printed letters — 500 pages — carries roughly $5.35 of toner, and a full cartridge covers six such reams before the Xpress M2625D asks for another.

What are the end-of-life signs for the cartridge in an Xpress M2625D?

Print that fades towards the middle of the page, blacks turning grey, and text losing its crispness are the usual sequence. The printer's low-toner indication arrives earlier as an estimate; the fade is the fact. Shaking the cartridge gently side to side revives output briefly, but when fading returns within a few pages, the MLT-D116L has given all it has.

How do I install a fresh cartridge in the Xpress M2625D?

Switch nothing off — just open the front cover and pull the old cartridge out by its handle. Rock the new MLT-D116L gently from side to side four or five times, pull away the sealing strip, and slide the cartridge in until it seats firmly. Close the cover and you are printing again; the Xpress M2625D needs no settings changed and no warm-up routine beyond its normal cycle.

Which Samsung printers share this cartridge with the Xpress M2625D?

Many of them — the MLT-D116L is one of Samsung's most widely used mono cartridges. As well as the Xpress M2625D it runs the SL-M2835DW, SL-M2885FW, Xpress M2626, Xpress M2676, Xpress M2826, Xpress M2835 DW, Xpress M2875, Xpress M2875 DW, Xpress SL-M2625D, Xpress SL-M2675F, Xpress SL-M2825DW and Xpress SL-M2875FD. One spare cartridge can therefore stand in for several machines, which is worth knowing if a second Samsung printer is on the desk. It sits within the Samsung toner range.

Do I also need to replace a drum when I change the toner?

No — they are separate parts on separate schedules. The drum unit in this family, the MLT-R116, lives through many toner cartridges and is only changed when the printer calls for it or when a repeating defect appears on every page. A routine low-toner change on the Xpress M2625D involves the MLT-D116L alone.

What guarantee backs this cartridge?

A 1-year warranty, together with free returns for a full year — if the cartridge is faulty or its print quality is not right, it returns at no cost to you. The terms are on our shipping and returns page. We ship from our warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, and support is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
