Frequently Asked Questions

What should I expect from this cartridge in an Xpress M2625 used at home?

Expect it to last a long time. Home printing — letters, homework, tickets, the occasional document bundle — rarely reaches a few hundred pages a month, and this MLT-D116L is rated at 3,000 pages. Many home users will measure its life in years rather than months, at a one-off cost of $32.13 and a running cost of about 1.07 cents a page.

How is the 3,000-page yield figure calculated?

It comes from the standard industry test: a set of pages printed with about 5% of the surface covered in toner, run continuously until the cartridge is spent. Your mileage follows your coverage — text documents track the rating closely, while pages heavy with images or shading use more. The figure's value is comparability: every cartridge rated this way can be judged against the MLT-D116L on equal terms.

What do I do when the Xpress M2625 reports low toner?

Do not rush to change it. The report is an estimate, and decent printing usually continues well beyond it. When pages do start to fade, remove the cartridge and rock it gently side to side several times — this levels the remaining toner and typically restores full-strength print for a while. Change the MLT-D116L only when the fading promptly returns after a shake.

Does this cartridge fit other Samsung Xpress models?

It does — the Xpress M2625's MLT-D116L is shared across Samsung's mono line, including the SL-M2835DW, SL-M2885FW, Xpress M2626, Xpress M2676, Xpress M2826, Xpress M2835 DW, Xpress M2875, Xpress M2875 DW, Xpress SL-M2625D, Xpress SL-M2675F, Xpress SL-M2825DW and Xpress SL-M2875FD. If a second Samsung printer is in the house or joins later, odds are this same cartridge already fits it. The cartridge appears in the Samsung toner range with the rest of its family.

High yield or standard yield for an Xpress M2625?

For most owners, high yield — this one. The standard MLT-D116S is a little cheaper to buy but holds less toner, so it works out more expensive per page and runs out sooner. The MLT-D116L's larger fill suits a printer that sits ready for months between busy spells: fewer changes, lower page cost, and no downside beyond a slightly higher purchase price of $32.13.

What cover comes with this compatible cartridge?

A 1-year warranty and free returns for one year: if the cartridge leaks, fades early or fails in any way within that period, it goes back at no cost. The shipping and returns page explains the process. Orders are sent from our IL, PA, GA or CA warehouses, and support is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
