Frequently Asked Questions

Our SCX-3400F prints incoming faxes by itself — what does holding five cartridges change?

It changes the risk. A fax machine cannot wait politely for a delivery: pages arrive at all hours and the machine prints them, toner permitting. With five MLT-D101S cartridges in the building — 7,500 pages in total — an empty cartridge on a Monday morning is a two-minute swap rather than a pile of unprinted faxes and a rushed order. For a machine that works while you sleep, stock is not a luxury.

What does the pack bring the SCX-3400F's page cost down to?

Roughly 1.2 cents a page, against about 2.18 cents when cartridges are bought singly. The pack is $89.69 for five, which is $17.94 a cartridge instead of $32.73, and the saving across the box against five single purchases is $73.96. Prints, copies and received faxes all draw at the same reduced rate.

How far does a 7,500-page supply stretch on a fax-active machine?

Count everything: outgoing documents, copies and the faxes that print themselves overnight. A combined 600 pages a month works through the pack in about a year; a quieter 300 a month stretches it past two years. The honest way to size it is by your fax traffic, since that is the consumption nobody in the office sees happening.

Does it matter which cartridge from the box we fit first?

Not to the printer — the five units are identical. For the cupboard's sake, take them in the order they arrived and leave each bag sealed until its day comes; that way no cartridge waits longer than it needs to, and the stock simply counts down from five to none. Stored flat in a cool, dry spot, a sealed cartridge is in no hurry at all.

Can this pack supply a different Samsung printer as well?

Yes. The pack's cartridges are standard MLT-D101S units, the shared cartridge for the ML-2165W, SCX-3400FW, SCX-3405, SCX-3405FW and SCX-3405W alongside the SCX-3400F. An office running one of those beside the fax machine can draw both machines' toner from the same box, and the $17.94 effective cartridge price holds for both.

If a cartridge from the pack turns out faulty, what then?

It goes back on its own, free of charge, and the rest of the box stays exactly where it is. Every unit carries a year's warranty and a year in which returns cost you nothing, counted from your order. The steps for sending one back are set out on the shipping and returns page; our support team can help Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, and orders leave from IL, PA, GA or CA.
