Frequently Asked Questions

How much cheaper is each printed page when the ML-2165W is fed from this pack?

Nearly a cent a page cheaper. The pack prices each MLT-D101S at $17.94 rather than $32.73, so across the same 1,500-page rating the cost falls from about 2.18 cents a page to roughly 1.2 cents. Multiplied by the pack's 7,500 pages, that is where the total saving of $73.96 against five single cartridges comes from.

What is the total page budget of this pack?

Seven and a half thousand pages: five cartridges, each rated at 1,500. For an ML-2165W in regular daily use that is a year or more of printing in a single purchase; for a lighter home machine it can be several years. Either way it is bought once, stored flat, and drawn on whenever the printer asks.

Five cartridges and one printer — how do we keep the stock straight?

Keep the box intact and treat it as the shelf. Store it somewhere cool and dry, take cartridges from the same end in order, and leave each one sealed until fitting day. When you fit the last cartridge, that is the moment to order the next pack — the rhythm becomes one order per box instead of one order per cartridge.

What if a cartridge partway through the pack proves faulty?

It is returned on its own, free of charge. Every cartridge in the box carries its own one-year warranty and a year of free returns, so a single bad unit never means sending back the good ones or losing your stock while a claim is sorted. The process is explained on the shipping and returns page; if you would rather talk it through, support runs Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.

Can the pack keep two different Samsung models supplied?

Yes — the cartridges are standard MLT-D101S units, the listed cartridge for the SCX-3400F, SCX-3400FW, SCX-3405, SCX-3405FW and SCX-3405W as well as the ML-2165W. An ML-2165W and any other family printer can draw from the same box, and the $17.94 effective cartridge price applies whichever machine the unit ends up in.

When would we be better off buying a single cartridge?

When the ML-2165W prints rarely or is likely to be replaced soon. A single cartridge then satisfies the need for $32.73 without $89.69 of stock waiting in a cupboard. The pack earns its place when the printer's workload is dependable — that is when the lower unit price is actually collected rather than merely theoretical.
