Frequently Asked Questions
Why put MICR toner in a cartridge this large?
Because the organisations that print checks in serious volume use serious printers. This Q7570A is filled with magnetic toner and rated at 15,000 pages, so a payroll department can run long check sequences on a departmental machine without the cartridge fading halfway through the year.
What does the magnetic toner actually do?
Bank readers magnetise and read the character line along the bottom of each check. That only works if the toner itself is magnetic, which is what distinguishes this cartridge. Loaded into a LaserJet M5025, it lets a high-volume office printer produce checks whose bottom lines survive bank processing.
Can you guarantee our bank will accept these checks?
No manufacturer honestly can. Acceptance also depends on the bank's equipment, your check stock, alignment and software. Print a trial batch, submit it to your bank for scanning, and scale up only after they confirm the output reads cleanly on their machines.
Could the same printer use this cartridge for everyday documents?
Physically yes — the output looks like normal black print. Practically, it spends a costly specialised fill on work that does not need it. Most departments keep the MICR cartridge for check runs and a standard cartridge for reports, swapping between them as the work demands.
How should we handle the changeover for a check run?
Slide the working cartridge out, store it upright in its box, fit the MICR unit, and run a few test checks before the full batch. Afterwards the standard cartridge goes back in. The printers in this class are designed for exactly this kind of quick, clean swap.
What support comes with the cartridge?
It carries a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns; see our shipping and returns page for the details. We ship from warehouses in Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia and California, and our support team works Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
