Frequently Asked Questions

Does the LaserJet 1022 take the same cartridge as its networked versions?

It does. The plain 1022 and its network-badged siblings differ in how they connect, not in what they consume: all of them run on the Q2612A, the 12A cartridge in this listing. The label on your current cartridge will show the same code.

What is the yield?

2,000 pages per cartridge at ordinary document coverage. The 1022 is a brisk little printer, so a busy desk can move through those pages at a fair pace — plan the next order by fading output rather than by the calendar.

What do I receive for $28.15?

One sealed black cartridge and nothing else to assemble. Toner and drum are one unit in the Q2612A design, so fitting this single part renews the whole print engine's consumable side.

Any fitting advice specific to a fast printer like this?

The swap itself is the usual one — gentle rock, cover off, strip out, cartridge home — but give the printer its moment to cycle afterwards, and run a short test document before starting a long job, so any seating issue shows up on one page instead of fifty.

Streaks run down the page after months of good output. What does that mean?

Usually a cartridge approaching its end: the drum surface and toner supply are both inside the unit you replace, so a fresh Q2612A addresses both at once. Keep the old cartridge until the test pages confirm the streaks are gone.

How should the old cartridge be handled?

Back into the new cartridge's packaging, and from there to an electronics or office-supply recycling stream. The box keeps residual toner contained and the cartridge intact for whoever processes it.
