WF-3720

The WorkForce Pro WF-3720 prints with the Epson 702 cartridge family — four individual DURABrite Ultra pigment cartridges. Please read the firmware note in the long text below before ordering.

WF-3720 Ink — The 702XL Shelf, and This Family's Firmware Warning
Epson's own cartridge FAQ for the WF-3720 lists the full 702 code set: standard 702 (T702120 / T702220 / T702320 / T702420 — black 350 pages, colours 300 each) and high-capacity 702XL (T702XL120 black and T702XL220 / T702XL320 / T702XL420 colours — black up to 1,100 pages, colours up to 950 each), all on the ISO/IEC 24711 pattern, DURABrite Ultra pigment throughout. Our shelf carries the XL tier only — the compatible ladder for this family is XL-only — in singles, a Set of 4 and a black-heavy Set of 9.
Two boundaries keep orders right. First, the WF-4720, WF-4730 and WF-4740 — one digit away — are 802 printers and take none of these cartridges. Second, the colour yield on this page is 950 pages per cartridge, not 1,100; only the black reaches 1,100.
The same 702XL shelf serves the whole family roster — WF-3730, WF-3733 — so one cartridge list covers every model on it, and a spare bought for any of them fits the rest. Pigment ink is the everyday half of this family's story: dry-to-the-touch pages and smudge-resistant text, with spares that keep best sealed — away from air and light — until the day they are installed.
Which 702XL should you buy?
- One colour ran out: replace just that slot — black is $22.49; cyan, magenta and yellow are $16.49 each.
- Full refresh: the Set of 4 ($64.44) replaces all four positions in one box.
- Stocked office shelf: the Set of 9 ($133.38) carries three blacks and two of each colour, all XL.
Chip, ink and everyday use
This printer is where the family's one serious caution lives, stated plainly: Epson's support page for the WF-3720 opens its FAQ list with a firmware question — after a printer firmware update, a cartridge can show as not recognized. Our cartridges carry a new compatible chip, but firmware updates can affect recognition on this family. If a warning appears after an update, reseat the cartridge and restart the printer first; our lifetime warranty, with 1-year free returns, stands behind the cartridge either way.
