Start with the number people get wrong about this cartridge: 950 pages, not 1,100. Our compatible T702XL220-S cyan carries DURABrite Ultra pigment ink rated up to 950 pages (ISO/IEC 24711). The 1,100-page figure on this shelf belongs to the black cartridge alone — a split that makes the 702 family different from the 252XL shelf, where every colour rates 1,100. If a listing shows you a 702XL colour at 1,100 pages, it copied the wrong family.

The cartridge carries a chip, and this family asks for the full sentence: printer firmware updates can affect recognition of compatible cartridges on the WF-3720 platform. Install the T702XL220-S, confirm the printer has recognised it, and only then let a firmware update run. Its siblings are the T702XL120-S black (1,100 pages), T702XL320-S magenta and T702XL420-S yellow (950 pages each) — a complete XL set with no standard-capacity cartridges stocked on this shelf.
It fits the WorkForce Pro WF-3720, WF-3730 and WF-3733, and nothing else: the near-numbered WF-4720 / WF-4730 / WF-4740 are 802 printers. Covered by our lifetime warranty, with free returns for the first year.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many pages does this cyan cartridge print?
Up to 950 pages on the ISO/IEC 24711 pattern — Epson's published rating for the T702XL220 code. That is this family's colour figure; only the black cartridge on this shelf rates higher.
Another listing says 702XL colours print 1,100 pages. Who is right?
This page. Epson's own WF-3720 product page states the XL yields as "Black: 1,100, Color: 950". The all-1,100 figure belongs to the 252XL family, and it travels into 702 listings by copy-paste. Our specifications carry the 950 figure Epson publishes for this code.
Which printers does it fit?
All three officially verified 702-family models: WorkForce Pro WF-3720, WF-3730 and WF-3733. Each takes the same 702 / 702XL code set, confirmed in Epson's own cartridge FAQ for the series.
Does it have a chip, and what should I know about it?
Yes — a chip is included. This cartridge carries a new compatible chip. If your printer's firmware has been updated, recognition issues can occasionally occur on this platform, so install first, confirm recognition, and let firmware updates wait until the cartridge is settled in. A warning that survives a reseat and a restart is covered by the lifetime warranty.
What happens if I only replace cyan and leave the other colours?
Nothing unusual — each slot works independently, and the printer only asks for the colours that are spent. Replace the T702XL220-S on its own whenever cyan runs low; there is no need to change a set.
Why does cyan drain even when I print mostly text?
These printers draw small amounts of ink from every cartridge during printing and cleaning cycles to keep the permanent printhead charged and clear. Colour therefore falls slowly on black-heavy work, and a spent colour still has to be replaced before printing continues.
What ink is inside?
DURABrite Ultra pigment ink — all four 702 colours are pigment, per Epson's specification for the family. On a WorkForce Pro that means colour graphics and charts that resist smudging and water once dry, not just sharp text.
Can I mix this XL cyan with a standard black?
Yes. Standard 702 and 702XL cartridges share the same slots in all three printers, and tiers can be mixed by colour. Our black is XL (T702XL120-S, 1,100 pages), but a standard black already in your machine works alongside this cyan.
My WF-4730 needs cyan. Will this fit?
No — and this is the family's most expensive near-miss. The WF-4730 is an 802 printer; the WF-3730 is the 702 printer. One digit in the badge, a completely different cartridge. Check the badge before ordering.
How should I store a spare cyan?
Sealed in its pack, upright, at room temperature and out of direct sunlight, and opened only on install day. We do not publish a specific shelf-life figure for this product — see the Specifications table.
Is this a genuine Epson cartridge?
No. It is a Clever Supplies compatible cartridge built to the T702XL220-S specification, labelled compatible on the box and on this page, and not manufactured by Epson.
What warranty and returns cover it?
A lifetime warranty — a cartridge that fails to perform, including one that will not clear a recognition warning after troubleshooting, is replaced. Free returns run for the first year.
