Frequently Asked Questions

On a networked printer that belongs to everyone, who notices the cyan is low?

Usually nobody, until a deadline does. The Phaser 7400N serves a whole workgroup, its supply warnings land on whichever screen happens to be watching, and each user assumes someone else orders. The working habit is simple: whoever sees the low-toner notice orders the same day. This listing — one 106R01077 cyan, $79.06 — is the thing being ordered.

Why does a shared machine burn through cyan steadily even in a "mostly documents" office?

Because twenty desks' worth of "mostly" adds up. Every slide deck, chart, letterhead and web page printed in color spends cyan — it is half of every blue and every green — and on a networked machine those small spends arrive all day from every direction. That steady draw is exactly what an 18,000-page high-yield rating is built for.

Does this box hold several cartridges, as the name implies?

No — one cyan cartridge. "Cartridges" in the title describes the product family, not the count. The 7400N swaps its colors individually, so this order replaces cyan alone; the other colors are separate listings bought when each one runs down.

Which printers can this cartridge go into?

Any Phaser 7400 in the building: the Phaser 7400, Phaser 7400DFX, Phaser 7400DN, Phaser 7400DT and Phaser 7400DX — and the networked 7400N this listing is named for. A mixed fleet of 7400 variants still needs only this one cyan on the shelf.

Is keeping a spare worth it for a shared printer?

For a shared machine, yes — the cost of the spare sitting sealed is trivial next to a workgroup discovering empty cyan mid-morning. At roughly 0.44 cents of cyan per rated page, the cartridge in the printer is doing the economical work; the one on the shelf is buying the office an uninterrupted week whenever the first runs out.

What if the shared printer's new cartridge misbehaves?

The order is covered by a 1-year warranty and free returns for a full year, detailed on our shipping & returns page. Warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA handle shipping, support is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, and the rest of the 7400 range is collected on the Xerox supplies page.
