Frequently Asked Questions

On a DT with its extra paper capacity, which runs out first — paper or toner?

Paper, many times over, and that is the point of the configuration. The trays exist so long color runs proceed unattended, while this 106R01077 cyan is rated at up to 18,000 pages. You will reload trays again and again inside one cartridge's life; the supply to plan around is the toner, checked before a long run rather than after it stalls.

How many reams of paper does one of these cartridges outlast?

At the standard-coverage rating, 18,000 pages is 36 reams of 500 sheets. Heavy artwork pulls that down — a full-bleed tabloid sheet spends several pages' worth of cyan at once — but as a stocking yardstick it works: one cyan on the shelf covers a small mountain of paper. At $79.06, the cyan works out to about 0.44 cents a page.

Why does the listing title use the plural "Cartridges"?

Catalog habit, not contents. The box holds one cyan cartridge for the Phaser 7400DT. The 7400 family replaces each color separately, so this order covers cyan alone; its fellow colors live in their own listings and get ordered as each one fades.

Which models does this cyan serve?

Every Phaser 7400 variant: the Phaser 7400, Phaser 7400DFX, Phaser 7400DN, the Phaser 7400DT named here and the Phaser 7400DX, with the 7400N as well. Trays and duplex units differ between them; the cyan never does.

What is a sensible spare policy for a machine that runs unattended?

Keep one cyan sealed on the shelf and reorder when it goes into the printer. An 18,000-page cartridge gives you a long reorder window, and the failure mode of a high-capacity machine is not frequent empties — it is one empty discovered in the middle of the longest run of the month.

What backs this cartridge after purchase?

A 1-year warranty and free returns for a full year, under the terms on our shipping & returns page. Shipments come from warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, help is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, and the wider 7400 range sits on the Xerox page.

About the 106R01077 Cyan for Phaser 7400DT Owners
