Frequently Asked Questions

Why do covers and finished pieces drain cyan faster than ordinary pages?

Because they are printed like posters, not memos. A booklet cover or a finished handout usually carries a full-bleed field of color — and most corporate color fields are blues and blue-greens built on cyan. One cover can spend what a dozen text pages spend. The 106R01077's 18,000-page rating is measured at standard coverage; a production machine's real coverage runs far above it.

Does the DXF's finisher consume toner too?

No. Stapling, stacking and the rest of finishing are mechanical work on paper that is already printed; only the printing itself draws toner. The finisher's effect on cyan is indirect — a machine that produces finished booklets invites exactly the cover-heavy work that spends cyan fastest.

Is this listing a pack, as the plural name suggests?

It is a single cartridge. "Cartridges" in the title is catalog phrasing; the box for the Phaser 7400DXF holds one 106R01077 cyan, $79.06. The printer swaps colors individually, so the remaining colors are separate listings on their own replacement cycles.

Which printers take this same cyan?

The full Phaser 7400 line: the Phaser 7400, the Phaser 7400DFX, Phaser 7400DN, Phaser 7400DT and Phaser 7400DX, plus the 7400N — and the 7400DXF named in this listing, whose finishing hardware changes nothing about the supply it drinks.

What should be checked before a long finished run?

The cyan level, on the supplies gauge, before the first sheet. A cartridge that fades halfway through a stapled run wastes the whole set, not one page. At about 0.44 cents of cyan per rated page, keeping a sealed spare beside a production machine is cheap insurance against reprinting finished work.

What protection does the order carry?

A 1-year warranty and free returns for a full year, per the terms on our shipping & returns page. Orders ship from warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, support is staffed Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, and the rest of this family's supplies are on the Xerox supplies page.

About This Cyan Cartridge for the Phaser 7400DXF

The DXF is the flagship of the 7400 line, finisher and all — and its cyan is the same high-yield cartridge as every other variant: one compatible 106R01077, $79.06, rated up to 18,000 pages. This listing speaks to production use, where covers are heavy, runs are long and a mid-job fade costs a whole finished set.
