Frequently Asked Questions

Finishing work runs long — how does that change the toner picture on a 7400DXF?

A finisher-equipped 7400DXF earns its place on jobs like stapled report sets and folded booklets: long, uniform runs where the machine may print for an hour without a pause. Consumption on that kind of work is steady and predictable — which is good news for planning, provided the cartridges start the run with enough in them. An empty position does not just pause a finished job, it can leave a half-collated set to be sorted by hand.

Does starting all four cartridges together help color stay consistent across a long run?

It removes one variable. Cartridges fitted in the same week age in the same week, so their output character drifts together rather than one position fading ahead of the others. For finished documents that a client will flip through page by page, that evenness is worth more than squeezing the last pages out of a cartridge that is nearly spent.

What is in the box?

One high-yield cartridge for each position: black 106R01080, cyan 106R01077, magenta 106R01078 and yellow 106R01079. The black is rated at up to 15,000 pages; each color is rated at up to 18,000 pages at the standard 5% coverage.

Is this set right for the DXF configuration?

Yes. The finisher changes what happens to pages after they are printed, not what prints them, so the DXF takes the same cartridges as the rest of the range — the Phaser 7400, Phaser 7400DFX, Phaser 7400DN, Phaser 7400DT and Phaser 7400DX.

How predictable is consumption on booklet and report work?

More predictable than mixed office printing, because the pages look alike: similar coverage, similar color balance, run after run. Once you know how many finished sets a cartridge load produces in your shop, the reorder point almost sets itself — most DXF owners simply restock when a new load goes in.

What warranty and shipping terms apply to this set?

A 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns, with the full terms on our shipping and returns page. We deliver from warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA — whichever is nearest — and support runs Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
