Frequently Asked Questions

Why does a top-configuration machine like the 7400DX deserve a full fresh set rather than piecemeal replacements?

The DX is typically the machine trusted with the work that gets judged: client proofs, presentation decks, color-critical pages. Output consistency is the whole point of that work, and consistency is easiest to hold when all four cartridges are at a similar age. Replacing positions one at a time, months apart, means one color is always the oldest — and the first to drift or fade on the page that matters.

What do the ratings say about how this machine is used?

The colors out-rate the black — cyan 106R01077, magenta 106R01078 and yellow 106R01079 at up to 18,000 pages each, against black 106R01080 at up to 15,000 pages — because the 7400 platform was designed around color output. In practice the colors are also spent faster per page on graphics work, since the ratings assume a light 5% coverage page. The numbers balance out: plan on the colors setting your reorder rhythm.

What cartridges are included?

The complete high-yield load: one 106R01080 black, one 106R01077 cyan, one 106R01078 magenta and one 106R01079 yellow. Fit them together for a known starting point, or hold individual cartridges back and fit them as each position calls.

Which models does this set fit?

It is titled for the Phaser 7400DX and serves the entire platform: the Phaser 7400, Phaser 7400DFX, Phaser 7400DN and Phaser 7400DT, plus the DXF finisher version. The DX's extras are in its paper path and configuration, not in its toner bay.

If one color starts fading before the others, is the whole set suspect?

No — positions live independent lives. Fading in one color points at that one cartridge: check its level, and if it is low, that cartridge alone is the replacement. The rest of the set keeps whatever life it has; nothing about a single weak position obliges you to change the others.

How is the set covered, and how is it delivered?

A 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns stand behind it — the detail is on our shipping and returns page. Orders ship from the closest of our IL, PA, GA and CA warehouses, and our support team is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
