Frequently Asked Questions

The 7400DT carries extra paper trays — should toner planning match that capacity?

It is worth thinking about them together. The DT's additional tray means the machine is loaded for long, unattended runs, and a run that no longer stops for paper can just as easily run a color dry. A full set on hand keeps the toner side of the machine as deep as the paper side, so the long runs the DT was bought for finish in one pass.

How far do the cartridge ratings go in everyday work?

The black 106R01080 is rated at up to 15,000 pages and the cyan 106R01077, magenta 106R01078 and yellow 106R01079 at up to 18,000 pages each, all measured at 5% coverage. Office documents sit close to that measure; pages with large color areas spend toner several times faster. Most DT owners find the colors set the rhythm and the black quietly outlasts its smaller rating because so much of the page count is color work.

What cartridges make up this set?

Four high-yield cartridges — one black 106R01080, one cyan 106R01077, one magenta 106R01078 and one yellow 106R01079. That is the complete load for the printer, ready to fit together or to be used position by position.

Which models does the set fit?

The full Phaser 7400 line: the Phaser 7400DT this listing is titled for, the Phaser 7400, Phaser 7400DFX, Phaser 7400DN and Phaser 7400DX, plus the DXF finisher configuration. Extra trays change how much paper the machine holds — the toner fitting never changes.

If a cartridge empties half-way through a long run, what happens?

The printer pauses and names the empty position. Swap that one cartridge — a couple of minutes with the run still loaded — and the job continues from where it stopped. The remaining cartridges, however full they are, stay in place; there is no need to disturb them.

How is the set covered, and how does it reach me?

A 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns cover every set, detailed on our shipping and returns page. Orders ship from the nearest of our warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, and support is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
