Frequently Asked Questions

On a shared network printer, who notices when the toner is about to run out?

Usually nobody — and that is the real argument for keeping a complete set at the machine. A 7400DN belongs to a whole workgroup; the person who sees the low-toner warning is rarely the person who orders supplies, and the warning gets dismissed a dozen times before a job fails. With a full set in the cupboard, whoever hits the empty warning can fix it on the spot and mention it at the next reorder.

The DN prints double-sided — does duplexing stretch the toner further?

Duplexing halves paper use, not toner use. A double-sided page still carries the same image on both faces, so the cartridges empty at the same rate per printed side. What the DN's paper savings do change is the ratio in the store cupboard: paper starts lasting noticeably longer than toner, so toner becomes the supply to plan around.

What is inside this set?

Four high-yield cartridges, one per position: 106R01080 in black, 106R01077 in cyan, 106R01078 in magenta and 106R01079 in yellow. The black is rated at up to 15,000 pages and each color at up to 18,000 pages under the standard 5% coverage test.

Is this the right set for a Phaser 7400DN?

Yes — and for every other version of the machine as well: the Phaser 7400DN, the base Phaser 7400, Phaser 7400DFX, Phaser 7400DT, Phaser 7400DX and the DXF finisher model. Networking and duplexing live in the printer, not the cartridge, so one set serves the whole platform.

Can toner levels be checked without walking to the printer?

Yes. A networked 7400 reports its supplies through its built-in web interface — open the printer's status page from any desk on the network and the four levels are listed. A monthly glance at that page is enough to order the next set before the cupboard is the thing that runs out.

What cover and delivery come with it?

A 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns stand behind the set, with the terms on our shipping and returns page. We ship from IL, PA, GA and CA warehouses, picking the closest stocking point, and support is on hand Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
