Frequently Asked Questions

Why have our prints taken on a purple cast?

Purple is what blue becomes when cyan stops pulling its weight. Mixed colors are a balance: pull cyan out of a blue and the magenta underneath shows through, so blues go violet, skies go lilac, and cool tones across the page warm up. On a 7970 printing at volume, that cast is the classic signature of a cyan cartridge at the end of its supply — and this 006R01512 is the cartridge that restores the balance.

What does this listing contain?

One compatible cyan toner cartridge, part number 006R01512, priced at $96.46 and rated at up to 15,000 pages. Nothing else is in the box — the black, magenta and yellow positions are supplied by their own cartridges on their own listings.

What is the cost per page on a high-output machine?

The arithmetic does not change with the machine: $96.46 across a 15,000-page rating is about 0.64 cents per page at standard coverage. A 7970 simply reaches the total faster. Rich, full-color pages pull the real cost upward; plain pages keep it at the rated figure.

Which models run the 006R01512?

The cyan supply is shared across the WorkCentre 7525, WorkCentre 7530, WorkCentre 7535, WorkCentre 7545, WorkCentre 7556, WorkCentre 7830, WorkCentre 7835, WorkCentre 7845, WorkCentre 7855 and WorkCentre 7970. This page is written for the 7970, the top of that range, and the cartridge is the same throughout.

Once cyan is replaced, is anything else needed to fix the color?

In the ordinary low-toner case, no. The purple cast comes from a missing ingredient, not from anything being mis-set; put a full cyan cartridge in and the machine has its full palette back. If colors stay wrong with all four levels healthy, the cause sits elsewhere — but an empty cyan position explains the cast on its own.

What protection does the cartridge carry?

A 1-year warranty, and returns stay free for a full year. Full details are on our shipping and returns page. Orders leave warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, with support Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
