Frequently Asked Questions

We approve proofs on this machine. Why do the warm tones look off?

Proofing is where a fading yellow gets caught, because a proof is judged against a screen and a standard — and yellow is the ingredient behind the warm half of the palette. As it depletes, golds go dull, creams go gray, skin loses its warmth and the whole proof reads cooler than the file it came from. On a WorkCentre 7970 used for color approval, that drift is the signal to fit this 006R01510 before approving anything else against that output.

Is this the full-capacity yellow for the 7970?

Yes — the cartridge on this page is the platform's standard full-size yellow, rated at up to 15,000 pages and priced at $96.46, roughly 0.64 cents per page at standard coverage. The 7970 sits at the top of the range, but it drinks from the same supply as the rest of the platform; there is no separate, larger yellow hiding elsewhere in the catalog for it.

How do we keep color consistent from one cartridge to the next?

The biggest consistency killer is delay: every page printed while the yellow fades is a page mixed with a slightly different recipe, so output drifts gradually and then all at once. Fit the replacement when the machine calls for it rather than nursing the old cartridge through another week of proofs, and judge the new cartridge after a few pages of normal work, when its output has settled.

Which other machines use this same cartridge?

Nine of them: the WorkCentre 7525, WorkCentre 7530, WorkCentre 7535, WorkCentre 7545 and WorkCentre 7556, and the WorkCentre 7830, WorkCentre 7835, WorkCentre 7845 and WorkCentre 7855. A shop running a 7970 beside any of those keeps exactly one yellow on the shelf.

What does this listing contain?

One compatible yellow toner cartridge — 006R01510 — for the yellow position only. The machine's other colors are individual cartridges on their own listings; a set is simply these singles bought together, and nothing is gained by replacing a healthy color early.

What guarantee comes with it?

A 1-year warranty with free returns for a full year, as laid out on our shipping & returns page. For color-critical work that matters doubly: a cartridge that cannot hold its color has not done its job, and it goes back on us.
