Frequently Asked Questions

Why has everything we print started to look cold and bluish?

Because yellow is the warmth in almost every color your machine makes. It is mixed into greens, golds, creams, skin tones and most photographic shades, so when the yellow cartridge fades, nothing turns yellow — instead the whole page cools down. Whites look steely, faces lose their warmth, and warm brand colors drift toward blue. Cold, dull output on a WorkCentre 7525 with healthy black text is the classic fingerprint of a yellow cartridge at the end of its life.

What am I actually buying on this page?

One compatible yellow toner cartridge — Xerox part number 006R01510 — for $96.46, rated at up to 15,000 pages. It fills the yellow position only. This is a single cartridge, not a bundle, and it is not interchangeable with the other colors in the machine, each of which is a separate cartridge with its own listing.

Our greens have turned blue as well. Is that the same problem?

Yes, and it is one of the most reliable tells. Green is built by laying cyan over yellow; take the yellow away and the same artwork prints as blue or teal. If your greens went blue in the same week your prints started feeling cold, both symptoms point at one cartridge — this one — rather than at the printer.

Which printers does this yellow cartridge fit?

Besides the 7525, the same 006R01510 serves the WorkCentre 7530, WorkCentre 7535, WorkCentre 7545 and WorkCentre 7556 from the same generation, plus the later WorkCentre 7830, WorkCentre 7835, WorkCentre 7845, WorkCentre 7855 and WorkCentre 7970 — one yellow across the whole platform.

What does each page cost with this cartridge?

At the rated yield, $96.46 over 15,000 pages comes to about 0.64 cents per page. The rating assumes standard 5% page coverage; photo-heavy work lays down far more yellow than a text page does, so a graphics-heavy office will see the cartridge finish sooner, while a documents office can expect the full figure or better.

What if the cartridge underperforms?

It is covered by a 1-year warranty, and returns are free for a full year if it fades early, streaks or arrives faulty — the details are on our shipping & returns page. You are not expected to live with a cartridge that does not perform.
