Frequently Asked Questions

How many spare yellows should a busy office keep on the shelf?

One. Because a single 006R01510 covers every machine on this platform, a lone spare protects the whole fleet: whichever WorkCentre 7855 — or any of its platform siblings — calls for yellow next, the same box answers. Fit it, reorder the same day, and the shelf is never the reason a color job waits. Offices that learn this the hard way usually learn it on a Friday afternoon.

We run several different WorkCentre models. Does one yellow really cover them all?

Really. The 7525-series machines and the 78-series machines that followed were built around the same supply: the WorkCentre 7525, WorkCentre 7530, WorkCentre 7535, WorkCentre 7545, WorkCentre 7556, WorkCentre 7830, WorkCentre 7835, WorkCentre 7845 and WorkCentre 7970 all take this cartridge alongside the 7855. One part number to stock, one to reorder, no per-model sorting.

Why does yellow quietly disappear faster in photo-heavy work?

Photographs are yellow-hungry. Sunlight, skin, wood, food, warm interiors — the subjects offices print most are saturated with it, and a single full-page photo can lay down many times the coverage of a text page. The cartridge is rated at up to 15,000 pages at standard 5% coverage; a photo-driven 7855 will legitimately finish it in a fraction of that count without anything being wrong.

What is the per-page cost we should budget?

At $96.46 for the cartridge, the rated yield puts yellow at about 0.64 cents a page. Treat that as the mixed-office figure: fleets printing mostly documents will land close to it, while fleets printing mostly photographs should budget by coverage rather than by page count.

How should the spare be stored so it is ready when needed?

Keep it in its sealed packaging, stored flat in a cool, dry cupboard away from direct sunlight and heat sources, and leave the seals alone until the day it goes in. A cartridge kept that way sits patiently for the long gaps between yellow changes — which, as this page explains, can arrive without much visible warning.

What protection comes with the cartridge?

A 1-year warranty and free returns for a full year, under the terms on our shipping & returns page — covering early failure and faulty units alike, with a replacement or refund as your choice.
