Frequently Asked Questions

What exactly is in this box?

Two compatible 106R01569 black toner cartridges for the Phaser 7800 family. Each one is rated at up to 24,000 pages, so the pair puts up to 48,000 pages of black printing on your shelf. One cartridge is for the printer; the second is the spare that makes sure the first one's warning light never becomes an emergency.

How does the pair price compare with two singles?

Two cartridges bought one at a time would cost $224.68. This pair is $206.20, so you save $18.48, and the per-cartridge price falls from $112.34 to $103.10. Nothing about the cartridge changes — it is the identical 106R01569 — the discount is simply for taking the spare now instead of ordering it later.

Why do 7800 owners buy black two at a time?

Because of the day the first cartridge dies. On a machine that handles a studio's or department's black output, an empty cartridge mid-deadline means a stalled queue and a rush order. With the second cartridge already on the shelf, the swap takes a couple of minutes and the day carries on. At up to 24,000 pages per cartridge, that spare may sit for months — which is exactly the point.

What does the pair bring the cost per page down to?

Across 48,000 total pages, $206.20 works out to roughly 0.43 cents per page, against about 0.47 cents buying singly. The difference looks tiny per page and adds up per year: on a printer that lives on black output, those fractions of a cent are what the annual toner bill is actually made of.

Will the spare deteriorate while it waits?

Toner is a dry powder, not a liquid, so there is nothing in the box to dry out. Leave the spare sealed in its packaging in a cool, dry spot out of direct sunlight and it will be ready when its turn comes — even if that turn is most of a year away.

Are both cartridges covered the same way?

Yes — each cartridge carries our 1-year warranty, and returns stay free for a full year as set out on our shipping and returns page. We ship from IL, PA, GA and CA, our team is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, and more for these machines sits on the Xerox toner page.
