Frequently Asked Questions

The title says "Cartridges" — how many cyan cartridges are in the box?

One. The plural in this listing's name is catalog language, not a count: the Phaser 7400 changes its colors individually, and this box holds a single 106R01077 cyan cartridge, $79.06, rated at up to 18,000 pages. When yellow or magenta runs down later, those are separate listings ordered on their own.

What does the cyan cartridge actually do in everyday office color?

It carries the cool half of the palette. Company blues in logos and headings, the bars in charts, skies and water in photos, and half of every green (cyan over yellow) all draw on this one supply. A page can look mostly black-and-white and still spend cyan on every colored element it carries.

How long does 18,000 pages stretch in a small office?

Do the division with your own volume: at 150 color pages a week, the rating covers well over two years; at 500 a week, most of a year. That is at standard coverage — artwork-heavy output shortens the run, document color lengthens it. At $79.06 the cyan layer of a page lands near 0.44 cents either way.

Which printers does it fit?

The whole Phaser 7400 family found on this page's links: the base Phaser 7400 this listing is named for, plus the Phaser 7400DFX, Phaser 7400DN, Phaser 7400DT and Phaser 7400DX, and the networked 7400N besides. One cyan serves them all; the suffix letters describe the printer's factory configuration, not a different supply.

What does running low look like before it stops you?

Blues wash out first — a navy logo prints toward grey-blue, and sky in a photo goes thin. Because black comes from its own cartridge, text stays dark and can mask the problem until someone prints something proudly blue. A color test page tells the truth faster than any single document.

What if the cartridge gives trouble after it goes in?

Every order carries a 1-year warranty and free returns for a full year, detailed on our shipping & returns page. Stock ships from warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, help is staffed Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, and companion supplies for the 7400 sit on the Xerox page.
