Frequently Asked Questions

Why do shops running repeat work on a 7400 change all three colours together instead of one at a time?

Because reprints have to match. On a production machine like this one, the same brochure, menu board or property sheet often comes back weeks later, and the customer expects the new run to sit invisibly next to the old one. Cartridges age at different rates, so a fresh cyan dropped in beside a tired magenta quietly shifts the balance — reds warm up, blues drift. Replacing the three colours as a matched trio resets all of them to the same starting point, which keeps the colour a client approved in March looking like the colour they get in June.

Exactly which cartridges are in this box?

One of each colour in the platform's set: cyan 106R01077, magenta 106R01078 and yellow 106R01079. Black is deliberately not in the box — the black unit for this range, 106R01080, lives on its own listing and runs on its own schedule, since text and line work wear it down at a very different pace to the colours.

Each cartridge is rated at 18,000 pages. What does that mean on a machine printing tabloid and A3 work?

The 18,000 figure is measured on standard pages at 5% coverage, and both halves of that definition matter here. An A3 or tabloid sheet presents roughly twice the printable area of a letter page, and production work — full-colour posters, photo boards, display cards — covers far more of it than an office memo does. Across the three cartridges the set carries 54,000 rated colour pages, but a week of full-bleed tabloid printing will chew through that allowance much faster than the headline number suggests, while lighter work such as signage with generous white space lands closer to it.

How does the set price break down per cartridge and per page?

The three cartridges together are $152.89, which is $50.96 for each 18,000-page unit. Spread over the set's 54,000 rated colour pages, that works out at roughly 0.28 cents per page for the colour side of the machine — before the coverage and sheet-size realities described above pull the real figure around. It is a costing in rated pages, quoted the same way the platform's own yield figures are quoted.

Which printers does this set fit?

Every variant of the platform: the Phaser 7400, Phaser 7400DN, Phaser 7400DT, Phaser 7400DX and Phaser 7400DFX, along with the Phaser 7400N. Duplexing, tray capacity and finishing differ across that range; the engine and its colour cartridges — 106R01077, 106R01078 and 106R01079 — do not.

What cover and delivery come with the set?

Every cartridge carries a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns, so one that streaks or fades early goes back for a replacement or refund rather than being written off. Orders leave from whichever of our IL, PA, GA or CA warehouses is nearest to you, and our support team answers Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST. Charges, timeframes and the returns process itself are laid out on our shipping & returns page.

About This Three-Cartridge Colour Set for the Phaser 7400

This is the complete colour refresh for the Phaser 7400 platform in a single box: cyan 106R01077, magenta 106R01078 and yellow 106R01079, one of each, each rated at 18,000 pages — 54,000 rated colour pages across the set — for $152.89. It suits the way these A3-capable production printers earn their keep: repeat client work where colour has to match the last run, changed as a matched trio so the balance starts even. Black (106R01080) is stocked separately, and the rest of the range for these printers sits under Xerox in the store. Each cartridge is backed by the 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns set out above.
