Frequently Asked Questions

Why do our greens look blue and our skin tones look cold?

That color drift is the classic signature of a fading yellow cartridge — yellow builds every green and warms every flesh tone, so when it runs low the whole palette cools even though nothing looks obviously wrong at first. At 15,000 rated pages this cartridge normally lasts a long while; if the shift appeared suddenly, heavy recent coverage is the likely cause rather than a machine fault.

How many pages should we honestly expect from this yellow?

The 15,000-page rating assumes roughly 5% coverage, so it works out to about 0.93 cents per page at the $139.30 price. Photo-heavy pages and calibration cycles pull the real number down — sometimes well down — while mostly-text work with small color accents can meet or beat the rating.

Why does this yellow cost more than the cyan and magenta singles?

On this page it simply does: the yellow single is priced at $139.30 while the cyan and magenta singles sit at $91.68 each. We sell it at the listed price without dressing the difference up — if you are refreshing all three colors together, compare the three-color set price before ordering singles.

Will this cartridge work in our machine?

This yellow cartridge is made for Ricoh Aficio MP C2800 and MP C3300, the platform that takes the 8886-family cartridges — this listing names it under the 8886 code. If your machine belongs to that platform, this is the yellow it uses; if you are unsure, tell us your model before ordering and we will confirm.

Can we keep printing black documents while the yellow is empty?

For plain black output, generally yes — the machine can usually keep producing monochrome pages with one color depleted. Color jobs will be blocked or come out wrong until the yellow is replaced, so plan the swap before the next color deadline rather than after it.

What protection comes with this cartridge?

Every Clever Supplies cartridge carries a one-year warranty and one year of free returns under our shipping and returns policy. If this yellow fades or streaks well before its rated life, contact support Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, and we will make it right.
