Frequently Asked Questions

We print several thousand pages a month — how long will a 20,000-page cartridge actually last us?

At 2,000 black pages a month, expect roughly ten months from one cartridge; at 5,000 a month, closer to four. The 20,000-page rating assumes about 5% page coverage, so dense reports, heavy forms and a lot of copying pull that figure down — treat it as a planning number, not a promise.

What does this cartridge cost per page?

At $74.54 for a rated 20,000 pages, the math works out to about 0.37 cents per black page. That is the running cost of the cartridge itself, before paper, and it is why this large-format black stays economical in departments that print all day.

Do copying and scanning draw from this cartridge too?

Copying does — a copy is a print, and it uses the same black toner. Scanning to email or to a folder uses no toner at all, and an incoming fax only draws toner when it actually prints to paper.

Our machine is an Aficio MP C3300, but the listing also names the MP C2800 — is it really the same cartridge?

Yes. This black cartridge serves the whole platform — Ricoh Aficio MP C2800 and MP C3300 — and the store lists it under the 888636 cartridge number. If your machine takes the 888636 black, this is the right cartridge whichever of the two model names is printed on the front panel.

The low-toner warning just appeared — do I have to swap the cartridge today?

No. The warning is an early heads-up rather than a stop signal, and there is usually a useful amount of printing left after it shows. Use it as your reorder trigger: order when the warning appears, keep printing until output starts to fade, then swap. Orders ship from our IL, PA, GA and CA warehouses, so a replacement is normally days away, not weeks.

What if this cartridge streaks or fails partway through its life?

Every compatible cartridge we sell carries a one-year warranty and one-year free returns. If print quality drops or the cartridge fails inside that year, reach us through our shipping and returns page and we will make it right; support is available Monday–Friday, 9 AM–5 PM CST.
