Frequently Asked Questions

Why do reds and skin tones suffer first when magenta runs low?

Magenta is one of the building blocks of reds, oranges, and natural skin tones, so it is usually the first shortage you can actually see in photos and presentation graphics. Prints start looking greenish or flat before the cartridge reads completely empty.

Will photo-heavy printing really use up the 9,500-page rating faster?

Yes — the 9,500-page figure assumes standard 5% coverage, and full-page photos can use several times that amount of toner per sheet. If your office prints brochures or photo reports regularly, expect a shorter real-world life and keep a spare in mind.

What does magenta cost per page in this cartridge?

At $64.07 over a rated 9,500 pages, magenta comes to about 0.67 cents per page at standard coverage. That is higher than black on this platform, which is normal for color cartridges with smaller yields.

Which printers is this magenta cartridge designed for?

It fits the Ricoh MP C401 and MP C401SR platform — the Ricoh MP C401 and MP C401SR color multifunction printers. The listing names it by the 841920 cartridge number, which applies across the platform rather than to just one model variant.

Does an empty magenta cartridge stop black printing too?

Generally no: black-only jobs can continue, while color printing and copying pause until the magenta is replaced. If your workflow depends on color output daily, swapping promptly keeps presentations and proofs on schedule.

How am I protected if this cartridge disappoints?

The cartridge comes with a one-year warranty, and within that year returns are free if there is a defect or print-quality failure. Terms are spelled out on our shipping and returns page, and our support team is on hand Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
