Frequently Asked Questions
Is an eight-cartridge set overkill for one machine?
For a lightly used printer in a small office, honestly, it probably is — a smaller set would serve you better. But for a shared departmental machine, a print-heavy team, or anyone standardizing on one annual supply order, eight cartridges is a rational quantity rather than an extravagant one. The honest test is your monthly page count: the higher it is, the more sense this set makes.
What does each cartridge effectively cost at this quantity?
The set is $378.18 for eight cartridges, an average of about $47.27 per cartridge. Compare that with $64.07 for a single color cartridge bought alone and the volume advantage is plain. You are essentially pre-buying your toner at the best unit price this series offers.
Our office runs more than one model in this family — will one set cover them?
Yes. These 8419-series cartridges are shared across Ricoh MP C401 and MP C401SR, so a single stock can supply every machine in the family even though the listing names just one model. That is one of the quiet advantages of this platform: one cartridge type, one shelf, no sorting by machine. Just confirm the 8419 series number matches what your machines currently use.
How should we plan consumption across eight cartridges?
Start from the ratings — black up to 15,000 pages, colors up to 9,500 pages each at 5% coverage — and compare them against your monthly meter readings. Most fleets find black cycles at its own pace while colors turn over according to how graphics-heavy the work is. A quick quarterly check of remaining levels tells you when the next annual order should be placed.
Does toner go bad if it sits in storage for many months?
Sealed toner cartridges are built for shelf life and keep well for extended periods in normal office conditions. Keep the boxes flat, dry, and out of direct sun, and rotate stock so the earliest purchase gets used first. Avoid opening a cartridge until the day it goes into the machine, since the seal is what keeps the toner fresh.
What if we need to return part of such a large order?
The same customer-friendly terms apply at this size: free returns for a year and a one-year warranty behind every cartridge in the set. Returns are handled per cartridge, so a single problem unit never forces you to ship back the whole order. Our support team, available Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, can walk you through it, and the details are on our shipping and returns page.
