Frequently Asked Questions

On a copy-center MFP, what actually uses the toner in this pack?

Printing and copying share one supply: every page that comes out of the M636z — whether it started as a network print job or a sheet on the glass — is imaged by the installed W1470X. Scanning and sending use none. In a copy center, walk-up copying is usually the bigger drain.

What does the two-pack contain for our center?

Two black cartridges from the 147X family, each sealed in its own packaging, priced together at $189.85. One goes straight into the MFP; the other waits steps away, because a copy center with a queue at the counter cannot pause for a delivery.

Why keep the spare within reach of the machine?

Because the failure moment is public. When output fades mid-queue, staff can swap in the waiting cartridge in about two minutes and keep the line moving. A spare locked in a manager's office or a distant store room defeats the purpose of having one.

How do we confirm these cartridges match the MFP?

Read the label on the cartridge you remove from the machine. If it says W1470X, this pair is the same cartridge — the 147X name on the box and the part number on the unit are two forms of the same identity. The identity is the center's house standard in waiting: the M634h and M635z multifunctions take this pair as well, and so do the M610dn, M610n, M611dn, M611n, M611x, M612dn and M612x printers.

Copies have gone faint but the gauge still shows toner. What is going on?

Check the scanner glass and the underside of the document feeder first — smudges there fade copies while printed pages stay crisp, because both jobs share the cartridge but not the optics. If prints fade too, the cartridge is genuinely running out and the spare should go in.

What cover do the two cartridges carry?

Each one is backed by a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns. Our support team answers Monday–Friday, 9 AM–5 PM CST — worth knowing in a workplace where the MFP is busiest exactly when everyone else is working too.

About This W1470X Two-Pack for a Busy MFP

A copy center built around an HP LaserJet Enterprise MFP M636z lives or dies on uptime, and this two-pack — two 147X cartridges at $189.85, each W1470X unit rated at 25,200 pages — is the simplest insurance: the replacement is always already in the room. A center with a quieter counter can insure itself with the standard-yield 147A (W1470A) pair instead.

The order ships from the nearest of our warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA; our shipping & returns page sets out the rest. Further supplies for this MFP line are under HP in the catalogue.
