Yellow is the cartridge owners discover last and need just as much: colour documents keep drawing on it for every green, orange and warm tone, and the printer stops for it exactly as firmly as it stops for black. Our compatible T802XL420 is the family's high-capacity yellow — DURABrite Ultra pigment ink rated up to 1,900 pages (ISO/IEC 24711). The standard yellow (T802420, 650 pages) exists only as a genuine cartridge; the compatible ladder carries the colours in XL form, and this is that form.

The rest of the shelf: T802XL120 black up to 2,600 pages, T802XL220 cyan and T802XL320 magenta up to 1,900 pages each, and the standard black T802120 up to 900 pages. All four positions are individual chipped cartridges, standard and XL tiers mix freely in the same machine, and both family sets — the mixed Set of 5 and the all-XL Set of 4 — include this yellow.
It fits WF-4720, WF-4730, WF-4734, WF-4740, EC-4020, EC-4030 and EC-4040. It does not fit the WF-3720 or WF-3730 (702 family), however similar those printers look on a shelf. Every cartridge carries a new compatible chip and our lifetime warranty, with free returns for the first year.

Frequently Asked Questions
What yield should I expect from the T802XL420?
Up to 1,900 pages, Epson's published ISO rating for the 802XL colours (ISO/IEC 24711). Yellow consumption follows your content: documents with colour charts and highlights draw steadily on it even when pages look mostly black and white.
Why do I only see an XL yellow here, not a standard one?
Because the compatible production ladder for the 802 family makes the colours as XL singles. The standard yellow (T802420, 650 pages) is a genuine-only cartridge; this XL is its high-capacity counterpart for the same slot.
Which printers does it fit?
WF-4720, WF-4730, WF-4734, WF-4740, EC-4020, EC-4030 and EC-4040 — the complete, officially verified 802 list. The WF-3720/WF-3730 use 702 cartridges and are not on it.
My prints have turned greenish. Could yellow be the cause?
A fading or empty yellow shifts every warm colour: greens go muddy, oranges lose their red balance, and photos look cold. Check the level reading first; if yellow shows ink but output is still off, run a nozzle check before blaming the cartridge.
Does it report its ink level?
Yes — each cartridge carries a new compatible chip that reports its level to the printer. This cartridge carries a new compatible chip. If your printer's firmware has been updated, recognition issues can occasionally occur; reseating and restarting usually clears a false warning.
Pigment ink in a colour cartridge — what does that change?
DURABrite Ultra is pigment in all four colours of this family, so yellow highlights and colour graphics resist smudging, fading and water once dry — office behaviour, not photo-lab behaviour, which is exactly what these printers are bought for.
Can I install this XL yellow next to a standard black?
Yes. Tiers mix freely by slot; the printer reads each cartridge's chip independently. A standard T802120 black beside XL colours is a combination many owners run.
Is the volume in millilitres listed anywhere on this page?
Deliberately not. No official millilitre figure for this family could be verified, so the Volume specification is left blank rather than filled with an unproven number. Judge the cartridge by its ISO page yield: 1,900 pages.
How should I handle the cartridge during installation?
Unpack it only when you are ready to install, remove the protective tape, avoid touching the chip and the ink port, press it into the yellow slot until it clicks, and let the printer finish charging before you print.
Is this a genuine Epson cartridge?
No — it is a Clever Supplies compatible built to the T802XL420 specification, labelled compatible on the box and on this page, and not made by Epson.
What if the cartridge is faulty out of the box?
A cartridge that is not recognised after the reseat steps, leaks, or prints poorly from new is replaced under our lifetime warranty. Free returns apply within the first year.
Should I stock a spare yellow?
If your office prints colour daily, yes — yellow stops the printer just as firmly as black does. The all-XL Set of 4 and the Set of 5 both keep a yellow in reserve; the singles on this page are for topping up one slot at a time.
