Light cyan exists for one reason: highlights. In pale skies, water and skin tones, a full-strength cyan lays down dots too coarse to blend invisibly, so this paler tint takes over the lightest part of the gradient. Our compatible T079520-S cartridge carries that tint in Claria Hi-Definition dye ink, rated up to 810 pages on Epson's published rating — and like the whole 79 family, it is high capacity only.
It carries a new compatible chip for ink-level reporting. The honest version: this cartridge carries a new compatible chip. If your printer's firmware has been updated, recognition issues can occasionally occur — seat it until it clicks and restart the printer before assuming a fault. Its shelf-mates are T079120-S black (up to 470 pages), T079220-S cyan, T079320-S magenta, T079420-S yellow and T079620-S light magenta, each colour rated up to 810 pages.
Fits exactly the Stylus Photo 1400 and the Artisan 1430, the two printers Epson documents for the T079 codes. Lifetime warranty, with free returns for the first year.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does light cyan actually do in a photograph?
It prints the palest part of blue and green gradients — skies, water, soft shadows — where full-strength cyan dots would show as grain. It is the difference between a banded sky and a smooth one on these six-ink printers.
How many pages will I get?
Up to 810 pages on Epson's published rating for the genuine cartridge. Light cyan consumption depends entirely on subject matter: portrait and landscape work draws on it far more than documents do.
Which printers take the T079520?
The Stylus Photo 1400 and the Artisan 1430 only — Epson's verified list for this family contains exactly those two models.
Can I put the regular cyan in the light cyan slot to save money?
No. The slots are keyed and chipped by position, and the printer expects the light tint in this holder. A full-strength cyan in this position would also wreck the colour balance the light ink exists to protect.
Does it have a chip?
Yes, a new compatible chip that reports ink levels. This cartridge carries a new compatible chip. If your printer's firmware has been updated, recognition issues can occasionally occur; reseat firmly and restart first, and the lifetime warranty covers a cartridge that still will not recognise.
Is there a standard-capacity light cyan in this family?
No — the 79 family is a single high-capacity tier across all six colours, per Epson's own support listings.
What ink is inside?
Claria Hi-Definition dye ink, in the light cyan tint of Epson's six-colour photographic system.
My skies show banding even with light cyan installed. Is the cartridge empty?
Check the reported level and run a nozzle check: banding with a clean nozzle pattern and ink remaining usually points to a paper-type or quality setting, not the cartridge. A broken light-cyan pattern in the check means it is time to replace.
Will the printer work if this cartridge runs out mid-set?
No. These models stop when any one cartridge is expended or removed, light colours included.
How much ink is in it, in millilitres?
No verified millilitre value is published for this family, so the Volume field is left blank rather than filled with a reseller's figure. The 810-page published yield is the comparable number.
Is this a genuine Epson cartridge?
No — it is a Clever Supplies compatible built to the T079520-S specification, labelled compatible on the box and on this page.
What cover comes with it?
A lifetime warranty — a cartridge that fails to perform is replaced — and free returns within the first year.
