Six-color printing exists for the tones four colors can't reach, and magenta is where portraits are won or lost. Skin is mostly magenta and yellow in careful balance; when the magenta tank of an ET-8500 or ET-8550 fades, faces go sallow and greenish before any level warning feels urgent. Our compatible T552320-S bottle refills it with 70 mL of dye magenta ink, rated up to 6,200 pages on the ISO/IEC 24712 document pattern with Epson's methodology.

As with every bottle in this Claria ET Premium family, read the yield honestly: that figure is the document-pattern rating, and Epson's footnote states photo yields (ISO/IEC 29103) are significantly lower — portraits and full-bleed prints spend ink at photo rates. The refill itself is uncomplicated: dye ink as Epson specifies for this position, a nozzle keyed to the magenta tank, an auto-stop fill, and no chip.
This magenta serves exactly two printers — the EcoTank Photo ET-8500 and the wide-format ET-8550 — and no other EcoTank family; each family's magenta is its own bottle. Backed by our lifetime warranty, with free returns for the first year.

Frequently Asked Questions
Bottle specs, briefly?
T552320-S — 70 mL dye magenta, up to 6,200 pages (ISO/IEC 24712 document pattern, Epson methodology). Fits the EcoTank Photo ET-8500 and ET-8550.
Faces in my prints look greenish-yellow. Is magenta low?
That's the textbook low-magenta symptom — skin tones lose their red component first. Check the magenta level; if it's down, refill and run a nozzle check, then reprint the same portrait.
Why is there a separate gray bottle if magenta handles tones?
Different tonal jobs: magenta builds color (reds, skin, warmth); gray builds neutral gradation — B&W steps and shadow neutrality. The six-color system carries both because each does what the other can't.
How is this different from 512 magenta?
Different family, different printers, different rating: 512 magenta (T512320-S) fits the ET-7700/7750 at 5,000 pages; this 552 magenta fits the ET-8500/8550 at 6,200. Not interchangeable.
Dye or pigment?
Dye. In the 552 family only the document Black (T552020) is pigment; photo black, cyan, magenta, yellow and gray are all dye, per Epson's Fact Sheet.
What does "photo yields are significantly lower" mean for me?
Epson's honest footnote: the 6,200 figure is measured on a document pattern. A 13 x 19 photo on the ET-8550 uses ink at photo rates (ISO/IEC 29103 basis), so real bottle life for photographers is set by coverage and size — watch the tank window.
Can the printer reject this bottle?
No — bottles are chipless. The keyed nozzle is a mechanical fit; there's no electronics handshake to fail.
Refill magenta alone, or wait for the set?
Alone is fine — tanks are independent. The 6-bottle set pays off when several tanks are low together or when you're stocking a new printer.
Reds look dull but the tank isn't empty. Other causes?
A partially clogged magenta nozzle produces the same dullness: run a nozzle check and one cleaning cycle. If the pattern is clean and the tank is full, the issue is elsewhere (paper setting is the next suspect).
Storage of an opened bottle?
Recapped, upright, room temperature, out of direct sunlight.
Is this genuine Epson ink?
No — it's a Clever Supplies compatible bottle made to the T552320-S specification, labeled compatible on the box and this page.
Cover?
Lifetime warranty (replaced if it ever fails to perform) plus free returns within the first year.
