Frequently Asked Questions

What exactly is in the box?

Six XL cartridges, one of each position: T277XL120-S Black, T277XL220-S Cyan, T277XL320-S Magenta, T277XL420-S Yellow, T277XL520-S Light Cyan and T277XL620-S Light Magenta. The contents table is printed on the box front.

How many pages does the set print?

Per cartridge, never summed: black up to 500 pages; each of the five colours up to 740 pages (ISO/IEC 24711 and 24712 pattern). Colours empty at different rates — photo work drains the light colours unevenly — so no single total is honest.

Are all six really XL?

Yes — XL in every position. Epson publishes no official XL multipack code for this family; this set is built cartridge by cartridge from the six genuine XL specifications.

Is there a Photo Black in the set?

No — because the printer has none. In the 277 family the 120 cartridge is the black, full stop. Sets that list a 277 'Photo Black' have copied the 273/302 code pattern by mistake.

Which printers does it fit?

All five verified 277 models: XP-850, XP-860, XP-950, XP-960 and XP-970. It fits no 279 printer — the XP-980 takes a different family.

What about the chips?

Each cartridge carries a new compatible chip. This set's cartridges each carry a new compatible chip. If your printer's firmware has been updated, recognition issues can occasionally occur — reseat the flagged cartridge and restart the printer first.

Is it cheaper than six singles?

Yes — $62.91 for the set against $71.94 for the six XL singles bought separately, following the LD ladder's own set pricing.

Some cartridges are still half full. Install everything now?

No need. Install what is low and store the rest sealed and upright; the set is a spare kit as much as a reset.

Pigment or dye ink?

Dye throughout — Claria Photo HD is a 6-colour dye-based ink set, per Epson's fact sheet.

Is this a genuine Epson set?

No — the Clever Supplies compatible set, built to the six 277XL specifications and labelled compatible on the box and this page.

What if one cartridge in the set fails?

It is replaced on its own under the lifetime warranty. The rest of the set is unaffected and stays in your printer.

Returns?

Free returns within the first year, alongside the lifetime warranty on every cartridge in the box.
