Frequently Asked Questions

Why do the reds in our MF634Cdw output look rusty instead of red?

Red is the most magenta-hungry colour your printer makes. As the 045HM fades, there is not enough magenta to hold the mix, and reds rust toward brown-orange while purples thin out toward blue. If the complaint is specifically about warm colours, the Canon 045H magenta is where to look first.

What is the running cost of the 045HM on the MF634Cdw?

At $33.64 for up to 2,200 pages, magenta lands near 1.53 cents per page. A department printing colour reports and handouts on the MF634Cdw will find that rate hard to argue with, especially against the standard cartridge's cost per page.

045HM versus 045M — what am I choosing between?

Stamina at the same price. The 045HM is the high-yield Canon 045H magenta, rated 2,200 pages; the standard 045M is rated about 1,300. Both are $33.64, so the choice is really how often you want to open the printer, not how much you want to spend.

Is this listing's cartridge specific to the MF634Cdw?

The page is written for the MF634Cdw, but the 045HM is the family cartridge for the LBP612Cdw and MF632Cdw as well. All three imageCLASS machines share the Canon 045H line, magenta included.

Which other cartridges should I know the codes for?

Cyan is 045HC, yellow is 045HY and black is 045HBK. When the MF634Cdw flags a colour, match the code to the slot — the four are not interchangeable with each other.

What am I covered by if the cartridge disappoints?

Our 1-year warranty, plus free returns for a full year; the full policy is on the shipping and returns page. Support is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
