Frequently Asked Questions

Our brand red prints orange on the LBP612Cdw — which cartridge do I blame?

Magenta, almost every time. Red is magenta laid over yellow, so when the 045HM weakens, yellow wins the argument and red slides orange. Blues and greens will still look respectable because they barely use magenta. A fresh 045HM in the LBP612Cdw pulls brand colours back on-register.

What does magenta cost per page in this machine?

The 045HM is $33.64 with a rating of up to 2,200 pages — roughly 1.53 cents of magenta per page. In an LBP612Cdw doing ordinary office colour, where magenta appears in charts, logos and the occasional photo, one cartridge covers a lot of months.

How is the 045HM different from the standard 045M?

Capacity. The 045HM is the Canon 045H high-yield magenta at 2,200 pages; the standard 045M runs about 1,300. They are the same $33.64 at the till, so the high-yield is cheaper per page by a wide margin — around 1.53 cents against roughly 2.59 cents.

Can I change magenta on its own in the LBP612Cdw?

Yes. Each colour is its own cartridge and its own counter. The 045HC cyan, 045HY yellow and 045HBK black stay put until the printer asks for them individually.

Is this a genuine Canon cartridge?

No, it is a compatible 045HM made to the Canon 045H specification for the LBP612Cdw, MF632Cdw and MF634Cdw. Compatible is what keeps the price at $33.64 while holding the same 2,200-page rating.

What protection do I have after it arrives?

A 1-year warranty and free returns for a year come with it. The details are written out on our shipping and returns page, and support answers Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
