Frequently Asked Questions

Our MF632Cdw copies look fine in black but the colour copies are washed out — why?

Copies use the same toner as prints, so a fading 045HC shows up on the glass just as much as in a print job. Cyan feeds every blue and green in the image; when it thins out, colour copies go pale and slightly pink while black text copies stay crisp. Replacing the cyan — not the scanner settings — is the fix.

How long should the 045HC last in an MF632Cdw?

It is rated at up to 2,200 pages. An MF632Cdw in a small office printing and copying a few colour pages a day can take the better part of a year to get through one 045HC; a desk producing colour handouts daily will see the low warning much sooner. Either way, at $33.64 the cyan cost works out near 1.53 cents a page.

What is the difference between this and the standard Canon 045 cyan?

Yield. This 045HC is the Canon 045H high-yield at 2,200 pages; the standard 045C stops around 1,300. Since both are priced at $33.64, the standard only makes sense if you specifically want the exact standard cartridge — per page, the H version costs you roughly 40 percent less.

Which models is this listing written for?

This page is for the Canon imageCLASS MF632Cdw. The same 045HC cartridge also serves the LBP612Cdw and the MF634Cdw, because all three machines share the Canon 045H cartridge family.

Do I need to change magenta and yellow at the same time?

No. Replace colours one at a time as each runs out — 045HM for magenta, 045HY for yellow, 045HBK for black. The MF632Cdw reports each slot separately, and swapping a cartridge that still has toner in it just throws pages away.

What cover comes with a compatible cartridge like this?

A 1-year warranty and free returns for a year, with the full terms on our shipping and returns page. Questions before or after you order are answered Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
