Frequently Asked Questions

My LBP612Cdw prints charts with a green that looks swampy — is cyan the culprit?

Very often, yes. Green is cyan mixed with yellow, and when the 045HC in your LBP612Cdw runs low, cyan stops pulling its weight and greens collapse toward a dirty yellow-brown. Fresh cyan restores the balance; if greens are off but blues still look right, check yellow (045HY) as well, since green needs both.

What does a page cost me with this cartridge in the LBP612Cdw?

The 045HC yields up to 2,200 pages and costs $33.64, which lands at about 1.53 cents per page for cyan. For an LBP612Cdw doing everyday office colour — invoices with a blue header, the odd chart — that rate stretches a long way before the cartridge asks to be replaced.

Why does this listing carry a different yield than the standard 045C?

Because this is the Canon 045H version of cyan. The standard 045C is rated near 1,300 pages; the 045HC stretches that to 2,200. Both are listed at $33.64, so for the LBP612Cdw the high-yield is the better arithmetic unless you print colour only a handful of times a year.

Can I swap just the cyan, or should the set go together?

Just the cyan. The LBP612Cdw tracks each colour separately and only asks for the one that is empty. The companions — 045HM magenta, 045HY yellow and 045HBK black — can stay in the machine until their own turn comes.

Is this an original Canon cartridge?

No — it is a compatible 045HC built to the Canon 045H specification for the LBP612Cdw, MF632Cdw and MF634Cdw. That is how it holds a $33.64 price while matching the 2,200-page rating of the cartridge it replaces.

What if it arrives and my printer is not happy with it?

Every cartridge we sell is backed by a 1-year warranty with free returns for the same year. Details are on the shipping and returns page, and a human being answers support questions Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
