Frequently Asked Questions

We print one-page marketing sheets on the MF628Cw — why does magenta decide how they look?

Because a marketing sheet lives or dies on its warm colours. Headline reds, product shots and faces all draw heavily on the Canon 131 magenta (131M), so when it tires, the sheet does not look broken — it looks cheap: reds go rusty, people go pale, and the page loses the punch it was designed with. A fresh 131M is what puts it back.

Our reds look fine on light pages but dull on full-colour sheets — same cause?

Yes. Light pages ask little of the magenta, so a weakening supply can hide; a full-colour sheet asks for it everywhere at once and exposes the shortage. If the MF628Cw handles small colour jobs but disappoints on the big warm pages, the magenta is running on fumes.

How many pages should we get from one?

The Canon 131 magenta is rated at 1,500 pages, the same rating as the cyan (131C) and yellow (131Y); the black 131BK is rated at 2,400 pages. Full-colour sheets use colour faster than mixed office documents, so a marketing-heavy month will spend the rating sooner. A single costs $34.70.

Is this a Canon-manufactured cartridge?

No. It is a compatible Canon 131 magenta cartridge built to the 131M specification and sold under our own brand, made to install in the MF628Cw in place of the original — at $34.70.

Do we change magenta and yellow together as a habit?

No — change whichever has actually faded. The four Canon 131 cartridges (131BK, 131C, 131M, 131Y) live separate lives in the MF628Cw, and replacing a healthy colour early just spends money sooner. Let each cartridge's own output tell you when it is done.

What backs the cartridge if it disappoints?

A 1-year warranty, with free returns inside the first year. Orders ship from our Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia and California warehouses, and our support team is on hand Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST. The terms are set out on our shipping and returns page.
