Frequently Asked Questions

Is it worth keeping a spare black cartridge on the shelf for an MF628Cw?

For most offices, yes. The Canon 131 black (131BK) does the heavy lifting in this machine — letters, reports, forms — and its 2,400-page rating means it empties on its own schedule, usually mid-job rather than between jobs. At $34.70 a single, a shelf spare turns a dead printer into a two-minute swap, and the cartridge you install today becomes the reason to order the next one.

How will we know the spare is genuinely needed and it is not a colour running low?

Read the page. Faint, grey or streaky text with healthy-looking colour is the black's signature. Colour problems announce themselves in the colours — drifting reds, cold pages, murky blues — while the text stays dark. The MF628Cw's four cartridges fail in four different dialects; the black's is the grey document.

Is this the Canon-made cartridge?

No. It is a compatible Canon 131 black cartridge built to the 131BK specification and sold under our own brand. It is made to fit the MF628Cw in place of the original and to deliver the same rated 2,400 pages — the difference is the branding and the $34.70 price.

Which cartridges partner with it in this machine?

The Canon 131 colour set: cyan (131C), magenta (131M) and yellow (131Y), each rated at 1,500 pages and each $34.70 as a single. They are replaced independently of the black and of each other, as each colour actually runs down.

How quickly would a cartridge reach us?

We ship from four warehouses — Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia and California — using the one best placed for your address, so most deliveries land within a few business days. Support is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST if anything needs checking.

What warranty stands behind it?

A 1-year warranty, with free returns during the first year if the cartridge underperforms. The complete terms are on our shipping and returns page.
