Frequently Asked Questions

How do we tell whether it is the black or a colour that has run out on our MF624Cw?

Look at what survives. If colour pages still print rich and full while letters and reports come out faint, the Canon 131 black (131BK) is the empty one — black does all the document work in this machine. If, instead, text stays bold but colour pages drift, one of the colour cartridges is at fault. On the MF624Cw the pattern of the failure names the cartridge almost every time.

What page count should we plan around?

The 131BK is rated at 2,400 pages. For a small team printing daily paperwork, that rating translates into a replacement rhythm you can actually plan around — order when the current cartridge is in, not when it is already empty. The colour cartridges in the same family (131C, 131M, 131Y) are rated at 1,500 pages each and cost the same $34.70 as this black single.

Is this an original Canon cartridge?

No. It is a compatible Canon 131 black cartridge, built to the 131BK specification and sold under our own brand rather than Canon's. It slots into the MF624Cw the same way the original does and carries the same 2,400-page rating — at $34.70 for a single.

Does a compatible black affect colour printing?

No. The four Canon 131 cartridges work independently: the black handles text and greyscale, while cyan, magenta and yellow build the colour. Swapping the 131BK changes only the black output — your colour pages print exactly as they did before.

How fast does a replacement ship?

From the closest of our four warehouses — Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia and California — so most orders arrive within a few business days. If you need a hand, our support team is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.

What if the cartridge gives trouble?

It is covered by a 1-year warranty, and returns are free within the first year if it underperforms. The full terms are published on our shipping and returns page.
