Frequently Asked Questions

The solid blue fills in our MF628Cw prints have gone patchy — light and dark bands instead of one flat colour. Why?

That banding is a tired cyan announcing itself. A strong, even fill is the hardest thing a colour cartridge is asked to lay down, so when the Canon 131 cyan (131C) runs low, its supply across the page turns uneven and solid blues come out striped and patchy — while text and light graphics can still look normal. A fresh 131C flattens the fill again.

Small blue details still look fine — does that rule the cyan out?

No, it fits the diagnosis. Thin lines and small accents sip toner; broad fills drink it. A cyan that can still handle a blue hyperlink may have nothing left for a full-width banner. Judge the 131C by the biggest blue area on the page, not the smallest.

What yield is this cartridge rated for?

The Canon 131 cyan is rated at 1,500 pages, like the magenta (131M) and yellow (131Y) alongside it; the black 131BK is rated at 2,400 pages. Fill-heavy work — banners, backgrounds, full-colour sheets — spends a colour rating faster than ordinary documents do. A single cyan is $34.70.

Is this made by Canon?

No — it is a compatible Canon 131 cyan cartridge manufactured to the 131C specification and sold under our own brand. It is built to install in the MF628Cw exactly as the original does, at $34.70 rather than the branded price.

Will replacing the cyan disturb the other cartridges?

No. The MF628Cw's four Canon 131 cartridges — 131BK, 131C, 131M and 131Y — are independent units. Swapping the cyan leaves the others, and the life left in them, completely untouched.

What guarantee and returns apply?

The cartridge carries a 1-year warranty, and returns are free within the first year if it underperforms. We ship from Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia and California, and support runs Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST. The full wording lives on our shipping and returns page.
