Frequently Asked Questions

Everything from our LBP7110CW looks cold lately — black is fine, but pages feel icy. Yellow?

Very likely. Yellow is the warmth in colour printing, and when the Canon 131 yellow (131Y) fades, pages drift cold and blue even though nothing looks obviously "broken". Black text stays perfect because it never touches the yellow. If your documents have lost their warmth while the black cartridge is healthy, the 131Y is where to look.

Why is yellow always the last one anyone suspects?

Because almost nothing on a typical page is pure yellow. It hides inside greens, skin tones, highlights and warm greys, so the LBP7110CW can be short of it for weeks before a print looks plainly wrong. The giveaway is a pattern — greens going teal, cream backgrounds going white-blue — rather than a single bad page.

What yield is this cartridge rated at?

The Canon 131 yellow is rated at 1,500 pages, level with the cyan (131C) and magenta (131M) and below the black 131BK's 2,400 pages. Each single is $34.70, and since the four cartridges are separate, a yellow replacement never means paying for colours that still have life in them.

Is this an original Canon product?

No — it is a compatible Canon 131 yellow cartridge, built to the 131Y specification and sold under our own brand. It installs in the LBP7110CW the same way the Canon-made cartridge does; you are simply not paying for the Canon name on the box.

Do we need to change the other colours at the same time?

No. Change the one that has run down. The 131BK, 131C, 131M and 131Y each live in their own slot in the LBP7110CW, and replacing the yellow alone is a complete fix when yellow is the shortage.

What cover do we get with it?

A 1-year warranty and free returns within the first year if the cartridge disappoints. Orders ship from our Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia and California warehouses, and help is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST. Full terms sit on our shipping and returns page.
