Frequently Asked Questions

Our LBP654Cdw prints have turned cold and blue-looking, though black is fine — is the yellow to blame?

Very probably. Black has its own cartridge, which is why text stays sharp, but the warmth of a colour page comes from yellow — and when the 046HY fades, prints lose that warmth and tip toward blue and teal. Cold pages with healthy black text are yellow's quiet way of asking to be replaced.

Is this the same cartridge as the main Canon 046HY listing?

Yes — the Canon 046H yellow, code 046HY, listed under the LBP654Cdw so owners of this printer reach the right colour directly. It is the same cartridge as the main listing: a 5,000-page rating at the same $36.47.

How long will one cartridge last in this printer?

The rating is up to 5,000 pages. The LBP654Cdw prints documents only, and most office pages ask little of the yellow slot, so in everyday use a single 046HY can stretch across many months. Colour-saturated pages — photos, covers, full-bleed designs — are what shorten its life.

What does the yellow share of a page cost here?

Roughly 0.73 cents: $36.47 spread across a rated 5,000 pages. Set that beside the standard Canon 046 yellow, code 046Y — the same $36.47 shelf price but a 2,300-page rating, which works out near 1.59 cents a page. On this printer, the high-yield 046HY is the cheaper cartridge to run.

Does the 046HY fit other machines in the family?

It serves the whole Canon 046 range — the imageCLASS LBP654Cdw and LBP654Cfw, and the MF731Cdw, MF733Cdw and MF735Cdw multifunction machines. Any of them with a Canon 046 cartridge in the yellow slot can run this high-yield version.

What if the cartridge disappoints us?

It is covered by a 1-year warranty, with free returns for a full year if it is not right for your machine. You can read the policy on our shipping and returns page, and support is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
