Frequently Asked Questions

The printer only holds one cartridge — what is the second one actually for?

It is a shelf spare, and on a business printer that matters more than it sounds. Toner never runs out at a convenient moment; it runs out mid-invoice-run on a Friday. With the second cartridge already in the building, a swap takes two minutes and nobody waits on a delivery. This 2-pack holds two 2,400-page cartridges — 4,800 pages in total — so one works in the machine while the other waits, sealed, in a drawer.

Why does each cartridge cost $18.47 here when the single is $27.70?

Two singles bought separately would cost $55.40; this pack is $36.93, a saving of $18.47 — essentially, the second cartridge's discount pays for a big part of itself. Per page, the pack works out to about 0.77 cents against the single's 1.15 cents. Nothing about the cartridges changes; you are just not paying single-unit handling and shipping economics twice.

How should the spare be stored so it is good when I need it?

Leave it sealed in its bag and box, stored flat in a cool, dry spot away from direct sunlight and heaters. Kept that way, a spare holds up fine for the kind of wait this pack implies — months, not days. When the first cartridge fades, rock the spare gently before installing it so the toner inside is evenly distributed.

Will this pack fit my printer?

The cartridges are compatible replacements for Canon imageCLASS printers that use the Canon 137 cartridge — Canon imageCLASS printers in the MF, LBP and D series that take the 137 cartridge. Check the cartridge you are replacing: if it says 137, this pack matches.

If one cartridge in the pack is faulty, do I have to return both?

No. Each cartridge is covered on its own — if one underperforms, that one is dealt with under the warranty and returns policy, and the other stays in your machine or on your shelf. You are never asked to send back a working cartridge to get a faulty one sorted out.

What cover comes with the pack?

Every cartridge carries a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns, the same as our singles; the details are on the shipping & returns page. We ship from four warehouses — Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia and California — and support is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
