At 200 pages a month — a home office or a single-desk machine — about a year. At 500 pages a month, closer to five months; a shared MF247dw doing a department's scanning, copying and printing can finish one in two to three. The 2,400-page rating is measured at the standard 5% page coverage, so months full of dense forms and graphics will shorten it, and plain text months will stretch it.

The cartridge fits, but the first prints look light — what should I do?

Rock the cartridge before you judge it. Toner settles in transit, and a new cartridge often prints light or uneven on its first pages. Remove it, hold it level, rock it gently side to side five or six times, reinstall, and run a few test pages. Print normally evens out quickly. If the whole page stays uniformly pale after that, contact us rather than fighting it — that is what the warranty and free returns are for.

I am switching from the original Canon cartridge — what changes?

Practically, very little. This is a compatible Canon 137 built to the same fit and page rating as the original 9435B001, so it installs the same way and the printer treats it as its normal cartridge.
