Frequently Asked Questions

Why does this pack carry both the TN420 and TN450 codes?

Because the two cartridges are physically the same fit — they differ only in how much toner is inside. The TN420 is the 1,200-page standard version and the TN450 is the 2,600-page high-yield version. This pack contains the high-yield units, so whichever code your printer or its manual names, these cartridges install and work; you simply get the longer 2,600-page life.

Which printers can use these dual-coded cartridges?

The full family is DCP-7060D, DCP-7065DN, HL-2130, HL-2132, HL-2220, HL-2230, HL-2240, HL-2240D, HL-2242D, HL-2250DN, HL-2270DW, HL-2275DW, HL-2280DW, Intellifax 2840, Intellifax 2940, MFC-7240, MFC-7360N, MFC-7365DN and MFC-7460DN. If your machine's documentation lists either TN420 or TN450, this 3-pack is the correct supply — there is no separate "TN420-only" variant to hunt for.

Three cartridges at $44.40 — what am I actually paying per page?

About 0.57 cents per page across the pack's 7,800 total pages, with each cartridge working out to $14.80. Compared with three purchases of the single TN450 at $27.13, the pack keeps $36.99 in your pocket for the same rated output.

Does choosing the high-yield version change print quality?

No. The toner formulation and the cartridge shell are the same; the high-yield unit simply holds more toner. Text density, fusing and page consistency are identical from the first page to the last — the only difference you will notice is how rarely you open the printer.

How should I store the two cartridges I am not using yet?

Keep them sealed in their bags, flat, in a cool dry cupboard away from direct sunlight and heat vents. Stored that way, a compatible cartridge holds its quality comfortably for a couple of years, so buying ahead of need carries no spoilage risk.

What if one of the three cartridges misbehaves months from now?

The 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns described in our shipping and returns policy apply to each unit in the pack, including the ones still sealed on your shelf. Shipments go out from our IL, PA, GA and CA warehouses, and the support team is reachable 9 AM–5 PM CST.

About This TN420/TN450 3-Pack

This listing is the dual-coded twin of our standard TN450 3-pack: three 2,600-page high-yield cartridges for $44.40, sold under both codes because the platform's printers were documented against both numbers over the years. Browse the wider Brother range if you run mixed models — but for any TN420/TN450 machine, this is the economical way to stay stocked.
