Frequently Asked Questions

How long will this 3-pack keep my printer running before I need to order again?

Each cartridge in this pack is rated at 2,600 pages, so the three together cover roughly 7,800 pages of everyday printing. For a home office printing around 300 pages a month, that is well over two years of toner in one box; a busier desk printing 1,000 pages a month gets about eight months. Because the cartridges are individually sealed, the second and third units wait on the shelf at full strength until the printer asks for them.

Which printers does this TN450 3-pack fit?

These are high-yield TN450 cartridges, and they drop straight into DCP-7060D, DCP-7065DN, HL-2130, HL-2132, HL-2220, HL-2230, HL-2240, HL-2240D, HL-2242D, HL-2250DN, HL-2270DW, HL-2275DW, HL-2280DW, Intellifax 2840, Intellifax 2940, MFC-7240, MFC-7360N, MFC-7365DN and MFC-7460DN. No adapter, chip swap or settings change is involved — open the front cover, slide the old unit out of the drum assembly, click the new one in and close the cover.

What does the per-page math look like on this pack?

At $44.40 for three cartridges, you are paying $14.80 per cartridge and about 0.57 cents per page — less than half the running cost of buying the same cartridges one at a time. The single TN450 cartridge sells for $27.13, so the pack saves you $36.99 against three separate single purchases while printing the identical 2,600 pages per unit.

Is the TN450 different from the TN420 my printer originally came with?

Only in capacity. The TN420 is the standard-yield version at 1,200 pages; the TN450 is the high-yield version of the same cartridge at 2,600 pages, and both fit the same machines and the same drum unit. If your printer was supplied with a TN420, this pack is a direct upgrade that more than doubles the pages between changes.

Will I need a new drum unit to go with these cartridges?

Not unless your printer says so. Toner and drum are separate parts in this platform: the drum is rated around 12,000 pages, so one drum typically carries four to five TN450 cartridges. Swap the drum only when the printer flags it or print quality stays streaky after a toner change.

What backing do I get with a Clever Supplies multi-pack?

Every cartridge is covered by a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns under our shipping and returns policy. Orders leave the warehouse closest to you — Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia or California — and support answers between 9 AM and 5 PM CST if anything about the pack gives you trouble.
