Intellifax 2840
Some offices still run on fax, and the Brother IntelliFAX-2840 is built unapologetically for them. A 33.6Kbps Super G3 modem drives the 21 ppm print and copy engine, with a 20-page ADF and 250-sheet tray handling the day's traffic — no Ethernet, no wireless, just USB for PC printing. It runs the economical TN420 or high-yield TN450 cartridges alongside the DR420 drum, rated around 12,000 pages.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which toner does the Brother IntelliFax-2840 use?
The IntelliFax-2840 uses the Brother TN420 standard-yield black toner (~1,200 pages) or the Brother TN450 high-yield black toner (~2,600 pages), paired with the Brother DR420 drum unit (~12,000 pages).
What is the difference between the TN420 and TN450?
Both fit the same machine — the TN450 is the high-yield version. It prints about 2,600 pages per cartridge versus about 1,200 for the TN420, so it costs less per page for heavier fax and copy volumes.
Are the cartridges on this page original or compatible?
Both — this page carries compatible TN420, TN450 and DR420 replacements as well as genuine Brother OEM cartridges.
Does the IntelliFax-2840 print in color?
No — the IntelliFax-2840 is a monochrome (black-only) laser fax machine.
